Photographer Aly Wight took this photograph of Castle Stuart, a tower house near Inverness that wears the clan name on its own walls. James Stewart completed the castle around 1625 on lands his family had held since the 1560s. The neighbouring Mackintosh clan disputed ownership and seized it briefly, but the Stewarts recovered it, and the castle has stood in the Scottish Highlands as a quiet declaration of clan territory ever since.
If you carry the Stewart name, there is something satisfying about a place that simply announces it.
