Photographer Aly Wight took this photograph of Scone Palace just north of Perth. For centuries, this was where Scottish kings were crowned. The Stone of Destiny sat on the hill here, and every monarch from Kenneth MacAlpin onwards came to Scone to claim the throne. In 1600, King James VI granted the Murray family these lands, and the Murrays have held them ever since. They built the palace that stands on the site today, and their descendants still call it home.
If you carry the Murray name, Scone is part of that story. The place where Scotland made its kings, held by your clan for over four hundred years.
