Photographer Aly Wight took this photograph at Scott's View, a hillside panorama above the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders that carries the clan name in its own right. Sir Walter Scott, the writer whose novels brought Scotland's past to the world, loved this view so much that it became inseparable from his name. The story goes that when his funeral cortege passed this spot in September 1832, the horses stopped of their own accord, just as they always had when he had ridden here in life.
If you carry the Scott name, this is the view that stopped the horses.
