Built between 1569 and 1588 near Dundee, Claypotts is one of the best-preserved tower houses of its kind in Scotland. The circular towers at each corner and the crow-stepped gables are a striking example of sixteenth-century Scottish architecture. The castle passed to the Grahams in the seventeenth century and remains a beautiful glimpse of the kind of fortified residence that Graham families across Angus would have known.
